FSUMF - Fortescue Argentina planning $8.4B green hydrogen investment
Fortescue Metals (OTCQX:FSUMF) and Argentina's government say they plan to spend as much as $8.4B on green hydrogen production in the country, with a view to producing green hydrogen on an industrial scale. Agustin Pichot, the Latin America head of Fortescue Future Industries, the company's green energy unit, said in a press conference with government officials today that the project would be one Fortescue's most important worldwide. Fortescue says it is planning a $1.2B pilot stage aiming to produce 35K tons of green hydrogen during 2022-24, before a $7.2B first productive stage aiming for an output of 215K tons of green hydrogen, enough to power 1.6 million homes.
