ODFL - Forward Air to be targeted by activist Ancora in proxy fight

Activist investor Ancora Holdings is planning to nominate four directors to trucking and logistics company Forward Air's (FWRD) 10-person board, WSJ said, citing people familiar.Ancora plans to nominate the company's founder and its former chief financial office for 2 of the 4 spots, the paper said.The Ancora group has a 6.3% stake in Forward Air.The activist argues that the company is underperforming peers such as XPO Logistics (XPO) and Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL), according to the WSJ.Forward Air reports 4Q results on Friday.The Ancora group's stake in Forward Air was revealed in last year in a filing.Recall Feb. 1, Forward Air announces 6% general rate increase on all shipments.
