ACES - FuelCell Energy leads alternative energy names lifted by infrastructure deal
The passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill is lifting several sectors today but none more than alternative energy, with FuelCell Energy (FCEL +21.9%), Bloom Energy (BE +14.6%) and Ballard Power Systems (BLDP +9.6%) all up by double-digit percentages, and Plug Power (PLUG +6.8%) not far off. The bill includes $7.5B for zero- and low-emission buses and ferries, and $7.5B for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Among several potentially relevant tickers: ICLN, QCLN, PBW, PBD, ACES, CNRG, SMOG, ERTH Bloom Energy is extending gains from last week, when the company reported a Q3 loss but record acceptances of 353 systems in the quarter. Bloom blasted higher two weeks ago when it announced a contract worth $4.5B in revenue from South Korea's SK Group.
