BAYRY - Gene therapy developer AskBio appoints ex Amneal commercial chief as CEO

  • Bayer ( OTCPK:BAYRY ) ( OTCPK:BAYZF ) said on Thursday that Asklepios BioPharmaceutical (AskBio) appointed Gustavo Pesquin as CEO, effective March 11.
  • Pesquin will join gene therapy company AskBio — a wholly owned and independently operated unit of Bayer — from Amneal Pharmaceuticals ( NYSE: AMRX ) where he served as chief commercial officer.
  • Pesquin had also served at Abbott and Pfizer and Sanofi, according to the German conglomerate.
  • Sheila Mikhail, AskBio's co-founder and current/first CEO, will transition to a part-time role as adviser/co-founder but will remain a board member of AskBio, Bayer added .
