GILT - Gilat Satellite garners $5M in cellular backhaul expansion from Japan carrier

Gilat Satellite Networks (GILT) trades 1.6% higher premarket after it received $5M+ for cellular backhaul over satellite expansion from Tier-1 Mobile Network Carrier in Japan in an aggressive deployment schedule.The Mobile Carrier will utilize Gilat's SkyEdge II-c platform to quickly expand coverage to rural zones that are lacking fiber access, and also provide emergency response in the case of earthquakes or other natural disasters."This win adds on to other Japanese and worldwide Tier-1 operators who are benefitting from Gilat's leading cellular backhaul technology," Regional Vice President, APJ Abhay Kumar commented.
