AERZY - Global airlines expected to be pushed to go greener after backlash against oil majors
Global airline body International Air Transport Association is pushing for more aggressive environmental targets for the airline industry as it throws its voice into the pushback against oil majors being generated by activists and shareholders.IATA thinks the backlash against Exxon, Chevron and Shell could boost investment in the lower-emission fuels and be a positive for global carriers.Global airlines have already pledged to net emissions by 50% by 2050, but will reportedly be asked to go even more green at IATA's annual meeting in October. Airlines in Europe have additional pressure, with the European Union planning to require airlines to use a minimum percentage of sustainable aviation fuels. U.S/European carriers: Delta Air Lines (DAL), United Airlines (UAL), American Airlines Group (AAL), JetBlue (JBLU), British Airways (ICAGY), easyJet (EJTTF), Ryanair (RYAAY) Deutsche Lufthansa ([[DLAKF]], [[DLAKY]]), Air France-KLM (AFRAF), SAS Group, Jet2 (DRTGF), Virgin Atlantic, Wizz Air (WZZAF), Aeroflot (AERZY), Finnair (FNNNF), Norwegian Air (NWARF),
