FTXL - GlobalFoundries Fab Expansion Reveals New Strategy

• GlobalFoundries announced a $4 billion investment in conjunction with Singapore government officials to greatly expand capacity at its existing chip fabrication plant (fab) in Singapore.
• The investment will enable the company to increase its overall output by 33%, growing its 300 mm wafer capacity from about 720,000/year up to just under 1.2 million/year, in addition to the nearly 700,000 200 mm wafers they also manufacture there each year.
