VIACA - Grammy ratings crash to all-time low for CBS
Add last night's Grammy Awards telecast to the sliding-ratings story that encompasses all the major televised arts awards programs. The Grammys on CBS ([[VIAC]] +1.3%, [[VIACA]] +1.2%) fell to a record low viewership of 8.8M viewers, crashing more than 50% from last year, and halving the previous record low from 2006. That's as bad as it reads, considering these figures (vs. the morning's) now include the live-streaming numbers. Still, it's the most-watched awards show of awards season so far. In the key 18-49 demographic, the broadcast had a 2.1 rating; last year's was the previous low there, with a 5.4 rating in the demo. The poor ratings came despite the fact that the 2021 Grammys, more so than previous years, emphasized music performances that have been the critical highlight of past shows. But it may have been hurt after the awards were delayed from Jan. 31, during the COVID-19 winter
