• Green Light Capital is a privately owned hedge fund sponsor. The firm invests in the public equity and fixed income markets of the United States. It primarily invests in value.
• The Greenlight Capital funds returned -2.6% in the third quarter of 2021 compared to 0.6% for the S&P 500 index.
• Two of the most important drivers of inflation – housing rents and labor – are likely to continue to drive the U.S. Consumer Price Index higher.
• Longs detracted 4.5% in the quarter while shorts added 1.2% and macro added 1.0%.
• We had a positive quarter in short selling and in macro. The problem this time was in the long portfolio.
