Heading into the closing bell on Wednesday and the investment community can see red across the board. All three major indices are trading to the downside, and all eleven sectors of the S&P 500 are also trading negatively on the day. Furthermore, commodities such as silver, copper, oil, and soybeans are all trading to the downside as well.There are some bright spots, however. A handful of exchange traded funds have managed to hold onto some gains. Investors can see some green energy names trade positive, propping up (TAN) +3.43% and (QCLN) +0.91%.Additionally, among the selling, investors can also see that the semiconductor industry has names positively trading heading into the close as well. A handful of semiconductor ETFs that have gained on the day are as follows: (PSI) +2.17%, (XSD) +2.19%, (SOXX) +1.53%, and (SMH) +1.42%.Semiconductor exchange traded funds have seen the largest inflows of funds compared to any other industry in 2021.
