HMPT - Home Point Capital plans to sell certain assets to Planet Home Lending

Home Point Capital (NASDAQ:HMPT) entered into a definitive agreement to sell certain assets of its delegated correspondent channel to national mortgage lender and servicer, Planet Home Lending. The deal is expected to close in Q2, subject to customary closing conditions. Homepoint, a subsidiary of Home Point Capital, generated $20.7B in delegated correspondent volume in 2021. Planet Home Lending generated $22.8B in correspondent volume. McGuireWoods, LLP acted as legal adviser to Planet Home Lending, while Jones Day was a legal adviser to Homepoint. Stratmor Group acted as investment banking adviser to Homepoint. HMPT shares were trading +2.16% pre-market.
