TSLA - Hot Stock: TSLA upgrade; SWAV BNTX SGMS rise on earnings; ANAT acquisition deal; BLUE falls on FDA hold
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) took a turn in the spotlight in midday trading on Monday. A positive analyst comment gave a boost to Elon Musk's electric car company. Earnings remained a key theme in intraday trading as well. ShockWave Medical (NASDAQ:SWAV), BioNTech (NASDAQ:BNTX) and Scientific Games (NASDAQ:SGMS) all rallied on strong quarterly reports. American National Group (NASDAQ:ANAT) also posted a notable midday gain. The stock rose on news that the company had agreed to be acquired by Brookfield Asset Management Reinsurance. On the other end of the spectrum, bluebird bio (NASDAQ:BLUE) was one of the major losers in intraday trading. Shares lost a quarter of their value after the Food and Drug Administration put a clinical hold on one of the firm's experimental programs.
