CURV - Hot Stocks: ABNB leads lodging stocks higher; GTS takeover; CURV hits high; TBPH fails clinical trial
In a choppy day of trading in general, hospitality and lodging stocks provided a consistent source of strength on Tuesday. Optimism that the COVID risk might be subsiding again drove gains in shares of Hyatt Hotels (NYSE:H), Hilton Worldwide (NYSE:HLT), Booking Holdings (NASDAQ:BKNG) and Airbnb (NASDAQ:ABNB). Elsewhere, M&A news sparked an aggressive rally in shares of health insurance and managed care company Triple-S Management (NYSE:GTS). The stock notched one of the day's biggest percentage gains after it agreed to be purchased. Torrid Holdings (NYSE:CURV) had a good day as well. Shares of the plus-size women's clothing brand extended their recent positive momentum to reach a new post-IPO high. Looking at the other side of the ledger, Mister Car Wash (NYSE:MCW) continued its volatile post-IPO career. The stock lost substantial ground on Tuesday following the pricing of a secondary stock offering. Meanwhile, Theravance Biopharma (NASDAQ:TBPH) plunged after its experimental ulcerative colitis
