BB - Hot Stocks: BB FUL ACN climb on earnings; RAD SCS drop
Earnings news drove the action in several high-profile stocks in Thursday's pre-market trading. BlackBerry (NYSE:BB), H.B. Fuller (NYSE:FUL) and Accenture (NYSE:ACN) all received a boost from their respective quarterly results. Meanwhile, the release of disappointing financial figures inspired selling in shares of Rite Aid (NYSE:RAD) and Steelcase (NYSE:SCS). Gainers BlackBerry (BB) recorded red ink on its bottom line in Q2, but the loss was not as steep as analysts had expected. Revenue also beat estimates, although the figure dropped 34% from last year to reach $175M. The company also the departure of a top executive. President and COO Tom Eacobacci will leave the company on Oct. 29 to pursue other opportunities. BB rose on the news, climbing 7% in pre-market trading. Earnings news also gave a boost to H.B. Fuller (FUL). Shares rose 4% after the company's non-GAAP EPS matched expectations and its revenue growth of nearly 20% exceeded projections.
