On a mixed day for the major averages, Bitcoin (BTC-USD) put in an unequivocally muscular performance on Wednesday. Bolstered by continuing excitement around a Bitcoin futures ETF (NYSEARCA:BITO), stocks related to the cryptocurrency found buyers during the session. Silvergate (NYSE:SI), Bit Digital (NASDAQ:BTBT), MicroStrategy (NASDAQ:MSTR) and Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) all showed strength. Sticking to the crypto space, Stronghold Digital Mining (SDIG) skyrocketed in its debut on Wall Street. Shares topped their IPO price by more than 50%, recording one of the standout gains on the session. Knight-Swift (NYSE:KNX) also posted a notable advance. Street-beating earnings figures allowed shares of the trucking company to set a new 52-week high. Looking at some of the day's biggest losers, shares Novavax (NASDAQ:NVAX) fell off a cliff amid manufacturing concerns for its COVID vaccine.
