COVID boosters are officially coming to the United States. The announcement of a new federal policy towards a third vaccine shot put Pfizer (NYSE:PFE), BioNTech (NASDAQ:BNTX) and Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) in the spotlight in Wednesday's midday action. Elsewhere, an analyst upgrade lifted shares of Blackberry (NYSE:BB). Tilray (NASDAQ:TLRY) also pushed higher, thanks to a debt purchase that positions the company for entry into the U.S. cannabis market. ViacomCBS (NASDAQ:VIAC)(NASDAQ:VIACA) posted midday gains as well, bolstered by a deal with Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) to launch a new streaming service in Europe. The Biden administration has laid out a new policy on COVID boosters, saying it will offer a third shot of vaccines produced by Pfizer (PFE)/BioNTech (BNTX) and Moderna (MRNA).
