ZEV - Hot Stocks: HD WMT report earnings; ZEV FUV fall; DNMR advances
Two retailing giants dominated the conversation in Tuesday's pre-market period. Home Depot (NYSE:HD) and Walmart (NYSE:WMT) both moved lower before the bell following the release of their quarterly results. Earnings news also had a negative impact on Lightning eMotors (NYSE:ZEV) and Arcimoto (NASDAQ:FUV). Meanwhile, Danimer Scientific (NYSE:DNMR) represented a pre-market bright spot, gaining ground on its financial figures. Home Depot (HD) beat expectations with its headline earnings numbers, with revenue climbing 8% to $41.2B. However, the company's comparable-store sales didn't rise as much as analysts had predicted, advancing just 4.5% in Q2 compared to a consensus of 5.6%. Weighed down by the comparable-store sales miss, HD dipped about 3% in pre-market action. Walmart (WMT) also ticked lower before the bell as a strong earnings report sparked a bout of profit-taking.
