VSCO - Hot Stocks: Mall retailers fall; DKNG hits low; DLTR sets high; GENI earnings; DY jumps
Ahead of a busy betting weekend and one of the most important shopping days of the year, retailers and gambling stocks filled out the list of standout performers on Tuesday. In the retailing sector, mall retailers felt investors' wrath amid worries about margins and slowing growth. Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE:ANF) was among the biggest losers in the sector, posting a double-digit percentage decline despite Street-topping quarterly results. Zumiez (NASDAQ:ZUMZ), Victoria's Secret (NYSE:VSCO), Chico's FAS (NYSE:CHS) and Gap (NYSE:GPS) all lost ground as well. Elsewhere in the sector, Dollar Tree (NASDAQ:DLTR) defied the overall trend. Earnings news and a new pricing policy sent the low-price retailer to a 52-week high. Turning to the gambling space, a wider-than-expected loss caused Genius Sports (NYSE:GENI) to shed a quarter of its value.
