ASLN - Hot Stocks: Oil stocks rally; M hits high; ASLN falls on data; ONON dips; RCAT wins contract
On a lackluster day for the broader averages, oil stocks represented a substantial source of strength on Monday. As crude prices approached three-year highs, Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY), Diamondback Energy (NASDAQ:FANG), Marathon Oil (NYSE:MRO), Cimarex Energy (NYSE:XEC) and Cabot Oil & Gas (NYSE:COG) all recorded significant gains. Among single-stock stories, Red Cat (OTCQB:RCAT) represented another standout gainer on the session. The stock soared 50% on news of a major NASA contract. Macy's (NYSE:M) also saw gains on the session. Hope for the overall retail market drove shares of the department store chain to a 52-week high. Turning to the day's biggest losers, ASLAN Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ASLN) lost more than a third of its value following the release of clinical trial results.
