FC - Hot Stocks: SPRO ORTX MESO rise on drug development collabs; earnings for FC and WBA

Spero Therapeutics (SPRO) posted a notable advance, thanks to an investment from drug-making giant Pfizer (PFE). Orchard Therapeutics (ORTX) climbed on news it has entered into a strategic collaboration with Pharming Group (PHAR). Mesoblast (MESO) also pushed higher on an updated collaboration deal. Elsewhere in the drug-development space, CureVac (CVAC) suffered a notable drop before the bell. The decline followed the release of data for its COVID vaccine. There were pre-market moves outside the experimental drug sector. For instance, business training and consulting firm Franklin Covey (FC) received a boost after the release of its quarterly report. Meanwhile, Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) also gained ground on earnings news. Spero Therapeutics jumped nearly 28% in Thursday's pre-market action.
