SMLR - Hot Stocks: TEVA ENDP rise on ruling; FN SMLR earnings; PTON facing increased AAPL competition
A legal victory took center stage in Tuesday's midday trading, sparking massive rallies in Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (NYSE:TEVA) and Endo International (NASDAQ:ENDP). A judge took the companies' side in a $50B case related to the opioid crisis. Fabrinet (NYSE:FN) was another major gainer in intraday action. The stock expanded its value by nearly a quarter following the release of quarterly results. On the other side of the spectrum, earnings figures prompted a sell-off in shares of Semler Scientific (NASDAQ:SMLR). The stock plunged on disappointing results. Meanwhile, Peloton (NASDAQ:PTON) also pushed lower. Encroaching competition from Apple led some investors to trim their positions. Gainers Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (TEVA) climbed nearly 11% on news of a legal victory in a case related to the opioid crisis. A California judge ruled that plaintiffs in the case failed to prove "an actionable public nuisance for which the defendants are legally liable." Endo International (ENDP)
