ZTCOY - Huawei ZTE banned from upcoming Swedish 5G networks

Swedish regulators have laid out some guidelines ahead of their 5G spectrum auctions scheduled for next month."New installations and new implementation of central functions for the radio use in the frequency bands must not be carried out with products from the suppliers Huawei or ZTE (ZTCOY).""If existing infrastructure for central functions is to be used to provide services in the concerned frequency bands, products from Huawei and ZTE must be phased out 1 January 2025 at the latest."European governments have been reviewing the role of Chinese companies in building their networks following pressure from the U.S., which says they pose security threats.In July, the U.K. ordered Huawei equipment to be banned completely from Britain's 5G network by 2027, becoming one of the first European countries to do so.
