ATHN - Humana teams up with athenahealth to improve healthcare outcomes for members

Humana (HUM) and athenahealth (ATHN) have entered into a multi-year agreement to deliver value-added member insights through latter's electronic health record ((EHR)) software, athenaClinicals. By marrying patients’ medical records with insights from their health plan data, both the companies will integrate supplemental and clinical data in real time to give providers the necessary insights to spot potential time-sensitive gaps in patient care. With this collaboration, providers on the athenahealth network gain access to even more real-time information to close care gaps, create alerts about upcoming preventive services, and help their patients stay on track with their health.
