HYMPY - Hyundai U.S. retail sales down 1% in October eco-friendly vehicles +290%
Hyundai (OTCPK:HYMTF) reports sales in the U.S declined 1%Y/Y to 56,761 units in October. Retail sales +1% to 52,767 units. Eco-friendly vehicles retail sales rose by 290%. SUV retail sales increased 4% on the month, representing 70% of retail volume. Accent +154%, Ioniq +35%, Kona +29% and Nexo +70% for the month. YTD sales increased 28% to 642,396 units. "Hyundai dealers are turning vehicles quickly as consumer demand remains strong for our product portfolio," said Randy Parker, senior vice president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. "We established several total and retail model records in October, and overall we are continuing to gain substantial market share." The company's global sales volume decreased 9.9% Y/Y to 898,906 units in Q3. October global sales totaled 307,039 units, a decrease of 20.7% Y/Y. Sales outside of Korea declined 22.5% to 249,226 units and in Korea fell 12% to 57,813 units.
