DK - Icahn proposes three nominations for Delek US board

Delek US ([[DK]] +9.5%) confirms Carl Icahn's majority owned subsidiary CVR Energy ([[CVI]] +2.8%) nominated three candidates for its board.Nominees include former HollyFrontier CEO George Damiris, according to an SEC filing.CVR is Delek US's largest shareholder, owning ~15% of outstanding common shares.Delek says it will evaluate the nominations and make a recommendation "in due course."Delek "would benefit greatly from a board refreshment and a renewed focus on value enhancing ideas, such as prioritizing free cash flow over growth, monetizing retail and focusing on core refineries while exiting from others," CVR said recently in flagging its intention to shake up the company's board.
