iShares Latin American 40 ETF (NYSE:ILF) is a passive exchange traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the S&P Latin America 40 Index which is comprised of the largest equities by market cap in the region. According to S&P's index methodology, eligible securities are selected from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru ranked by market capitalization and liquidity. The 40 companies together represent approximately 70% of the total market capitalization in Latin America equity markets.
