BINFF - Inter Pipeline's Strategic Update Falls Flat While Brookfield's Buyout Bid Is Waiting In The Wings

In February, Inter Pipeline shareholders received a formal hostile buyout bid from Brookfield Infrastructure Partners for C$16.50/share.
Brookfield said it would consider raising the bid to $18.25 if IPL would engage in constructive discussions and open the books on the Heartland Petrochemical Complex.
Meanwhile, IPL management encouraged investors not to sell their stock to Brookfield and said it would undergo a strategic review to "maximize shareholder value".
Yet IPL's latest strategic update on HPC was underwhelming and no partner was announced. As a result, the stock did not budge.
As a result, and as a long-suffering IPL shareholder, I am hoping Brookfield is successful in its attempt to takeover IPL.
