IPPLF - Inter Pipeline to seek options including sale after Brookfield offer

Inter Pipeline (IPPLF) says it is initiating a review of strategic options including a potential sale, a week after receiving a hostile takeover offer from Brookfield Infrastructure Partners (BIP).The Canadian pipeline operator says it hired TD Securities for advice and has formed a special board committee to evaluate options "including exploring a possible corporate transaction."Inter Pipeline says it has been seeking a partner for a material interest in its C$4B Heartland Petrochemical Complex, which is under construction in Alberta.Brookfield's bid is for C$16.50/share, and Inter Pipeline shares have traded above the proposed price since the offer was announced Feb. 10.
