IBKR - interactive Brokers expands overnight trading hours to over 10000 stocks ETFs

Interactive Brokers ( NASDAQ: IBKR ) expanded its Overnight Trading hours service to over 10,000 U.S. stocks and ETF, the company said Tuesday, coming two months after Robinhood ( HOOD ) launched 24/5 trading of 40 well-known stocks and ETF.
That ratchets up the competition among online brokers who seek to keep their users engaged by offering them the ability to trade when it's convenient for them. In the fall of 2019, online brokers rushed to offer zero-commissions when Charles Schwab ( SCHW ) cut its stock, ETF, and options online trade commissions to zero.
"By extending Overnight Trading to thousands of US stocks and ETFs, our global clients have a greater choice of what and when to trade at almost any time," Interactive Brokers ( IBKR ) CEO Milan Galik said.
To supplement the Overnight Trading liquidity provided by Interactive Brokers' own IBEOS Alternative Trading System, the company is now connected to the Blue Ocean ATS.
IBKR's regular market hours, extended hours, and Overnight Trading Hours allow clients to trade eligible U.S. stocks and ETFs nearly 24 hours a day, five days a week, it said. Overnight Trading Hours are from 8:00 PM ET to 3:50 AM ET, with the first session of the week starting on Sunday at 8:00 PM ET and the last session ending on Friday at 3:50 AM.
Interactive Brokers ( IBKR ) stock slipped 0.3% in Tuesday morning trading.
