Additions to the executive team include Erik Emerson, named chief commercial officer, and Greg Gironda, named chief operating officer. These two together have more than five decades of experience in commercializing innovative pharmaceutical compounds with leading pharmaceutical companies; the pair will work to advance Odyssey’s concussion treatment and Niemann-Pick treatment. According to the announcement, more than 5 million concussions occur every year in the United States alone. With no current treatment approved by the FDA, those dealing with patients represent an underserved population with an urgent need.
