NTRA - Invitae to appeal verdict in Natera patent case

• Invitae ( NYSE: NVTA ) said it will appeal a verdict in a patent case in a federal court in Delaware that found in favor of Natera ( NTRA ).
• Invitae ( NVTA ) has been ordered to pay $19.35M for infringing some Natera ( NTRA ) patents.
• The case involved Invitae's products that use Anchored Multiplex PCR ("AMP") chemistry.
• "We continue to have strong confidence in our product portfolio and our freedom to operate based on the unique and distinguished nature of our technology, and expect to demonstrate that in ongoing proceedings," Invitae ( NVTA ) CEO Ken Knight said in a statement .
