VOO - Is VOO A Good Buy For Dividend Portfolios?

• A year ago I recommended VOO as a Dividend Growth Investment. Despite the drop in dividends last year, I still think it can play an important role in dividend portfolios.
• Though VOO's dividends have declined during past market shocks, so have those of premium dividend aristocrats. VOO may hold more future dividend stars.
• VOO's dividend long term is safer due to its healthy payout ratio and the diversification its many holdings provide.
• Dividend stock valuations today are far higher than they were 20 or 13 years ago, so they no longer provide the protection or yield they did in 2000 and 2008.
