MVP - Juventus rallies with Cristiano Ronaldo contract close to being offloaded
Juventus Football Club S.p.A. (OTCPK:JVTSF) trades 2.85% higher in Milan as investors weigh the impact of multiple reports that Cristiano Ronaldo is moving away from the club in a sale to Manchester City. Juventus is reportedly seeking a fee in the €30M ($35M) range for the superstar it bought from Real Madrid for €100M in 2018 in the hopes for a big financial benefit. Shares of Juventus soared more than 150% in the first year after Ronaldo's signing, but the pandemic impacted the 2020-2021 upside to the point that French firm Kepler Cheuvreux SA warned that Juventus would be likely to record losses until Ronaldo left due to his high salary. Juventus is one of the top holdings in the Roundhill Pro, Sports, Media & Apparel ETF (NYSEARCA:MVP), which aims to offer investors exposure to pro sports across different classes.
