Update 12:05pm: Adds KKR confirmation of deal. KKR (NYSE:KKR) agreed to acquire Barracuda Networks from private equity firm Thoma Bravo. The price wasn't disclosed, though Bloomberg earlier reported a price of about $3.8 billion, including debt. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year, according to a statement. Thoma Bravo agreed to buy Barracuda Networks for $1.6 billion in late November 2017. The investment in Barracuda builds upon KKR’s experience in the cybersecurity sector with investments including Ping (PING), Cylance, DarkTrace (OTCPK:DRKTF), ForgeRock (FORG), NetSPI and Optiv. The news comes after cybersecurity firm SailPoint agreed to be acquired by Thoma Bravo in $6.9B deal on Monday. Thoma Bravo has been acquisitive in the cybersecurity space and last year purchased Proofpoint for $12.3 billion.
