Kratos Defense & Security Solutions ( NASDAQ: KTOS ) rose 13% Wednesday after the company said a test of its solid rocket motor was a success.

The company's Zeus 1 is the first of two solid rocket motors developed within its Kratos Zeus Program to develop affordable launch vehicles.

The test was conducted at Aerojet Rocketdyne's ( AJRD ) facility in Camden, Arkansas.
