VRE - Kushner Cos. reiterates $18.50/shr offer for Veris Residential; considering all options
- Kushner Cos., whose offer to buy Veris Residential ( NYSE: VRE ) for $18.50 a share was rejected as recently as two weeks ago, reiterated its offer to acquire the REIT. Veris rose 1%.
- "Our fully financed all-cash offer for $18.50 remains outstanding, as does, for now, our willingness to constructively engage with the Board to see if we can go higher," Kushner Cos. Chairman Charles Kushner wrote in a letter to the Veris ( VRE ) board on Tuesday. "Our patience, however, is not endless, and we are actively considering all other alternatives."
- The letter comes after Kushner Companies on Jan. 18 disclosed that it was not interested in proceeding with a transaction with the Veris ( VRE ).
- Kushner first made an unsolicited $16 a share proposal to acquire Veris ( VRE ) in October. In December Veris r ejected an increased $18.50/share offer from Kushner, but had said it was open to dialogue.
- Earlier this month Veris ( VRE ) holder Madison International disclosed it had met wit the company over the past several weeks and discussed its support for management and the apartment owner's strategic direction.
