NBA - LA Clippers Partner with Aspiration in $300 Million Deal

The Los Angeles Clippers welcomed another partner to the franchise’s Intuit Dome arena, to help cover the USD1.2 Billion cost. The team landed a reported USD300 Million sponsorship with Aspiration, a “green” financial services company.

As per the agreement, Aspiration will become a founding member of the team’s new arena. Furthermore, Aspiration will be displayed in signs around the arena as well as other marketing material.

Aspiration is set to go public through a merger with InterPrivate III Financial Partners IPVF, a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company. The financial company has investors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers.

Aspiration makes it possible for all of its clients to choose their method of payment for banking services. Moreover, the company is a strong advocate against climate change and has vowed not to invest any money into the coal or oil industries.

The objective is ideal for the clipper new complex, which it plans to operate as 100% carbon-free. According to the clippers, Intuit Dome is set to function as a fully electric arena, and is set to save almost 10 million gallons of water per year amid conservation and the use of reclaimed water.

“There is a responsibility associated with building the best arena in the world,” Ballmer said in a statement. “Aspiration becoming our first founding partner supports the stake we are planting in the ground to make Intuit Dome the most sustainable arena in the world.”
