MGM - Las Vegas casinos see soft month after CES goes online
Casinos in Nevada generated a gaming win of $761.8M in January to improve from the $683.7M mark in December but fall about 27% below last year's level. Las Vegas Strip casinos saw a 44% decline from last year's gaming win tally. It was a tough comparison for Vegas properties after the huge CES event went online this year due to the pandemic. The gaming win for Boulder Strip casinos was only down 7.9% Y/Y. Sector watch: Caesars Entertainment ([[CZR]] -3.4%), MGM Resorts ([[MGM]] -3.4%), Boyd Gaming ([[BYD]] -3.4%), Wynn Resorts ([[WYNN]] -3.0%), Las Vegas Sands ([[LVS]] -1.9%), Full House Resorts ([[FLL]] +1.2%) and Red Rock Resorts ([[RRR]] -1.9%). MGM landed a bullish upgrade from Argus earlier this week.
