SNE - Lions Gate taps Sony for physical home entertainment distribution

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SNE -0.7%) and Lions Gate Entertainment ([[LGF.A]] +0.4%, [[LGF.B]] +0.1%) have a multi-year deal for Sony to handle distribution for physical home entertainment releases. It's a shrinking business, but SPHE in July will start distribution of Lions Gate's films on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD formats in the U.S. and Canada. Lions Gate will maintain its own independent sales and marketing teams for the physical formats.
