LTHM - Lithium shares sink as Orocobre considers mine expansion

Lithium stocks slide deeply into the red after Australia's Orocobre said a stage 3 scoping study into a further expansion at its Olaroz mine in Argentina will start during the current quarter.Orocobre says the study will investigate options for additional production of 25K-50K tons/year from Olaroz, Cauchari or a combination, leveraging existing stage 2 and 3 infrastructure.Among relevant tickers: [[LAC]] -7.2%, [[ALB]] -5.8%,  [[SQM]] -3.3%, [[FMC]] -2.5%, [[LTHM]] -0.3%."2021 lithium fundamentals look strong, but a large wave of supply seems on tap around year-end and into 2022," BMO analysts say.
