CCIV - Lucid Motors aims to be volume player in electric vehicle market
The upcoming $169K electric vehicle from Lucid Motors (LUCIDM) is being praised by the man who engineered the Tesla Model S about ten years ago. While the Lucid Air is expected hit the market in the first half of 2021 with impressive range of up to 517 miles per charge and 0-60 mph acceleration in just over two seconds, former Tesla engineer and current Lucid CEO Pete Rawlinson thinks the bigger goal is leveraging the Air's 1,080-horsepower propulsion technology to power cheaper electric vehicles.
