LUNMF - Lundin Mining shares slip on temporary halt at Portugal and Brazil mines
Lundin Mining ([[LUNMF]] -9.0%) announced that it has halted ore processing operations at its Chapada copper-gold mine in Brazil after a power outage damaged mill motors. Interruption of power services to the mine occurred on Sunday. When power was restored, the protection system of Chapada’s main electrical substation failed, according to the company.Additionally, the firm said operations at its Neves-Corvo mine, in Portugal, have been suspended, following the death of a longtime employee at the mine on 25 September.The firm said that it was investigating the accident and also retaining a third party to conduct an independent investigation.Operations were planned to resume mid-week, with the exception of mining activities in the immediate area of the accident.
