Shares of M&T Bank Corporation ( MTB ) have been a mixed performer over the past year, trading essentially flat and missing out on a strong equity market. While the company has a history of strong credit underwriting standards, deposit and loan growth have been fairly lackluster, limiting upside. I last covered shares in July , when I rated the stock a “ H old,” given these concerns. Since then, the stock has lost 4% while the market has gained 6%, suggesting even a “ S ell” could have been merited. With updated financials, now is a good time to revisit M&T Bank....
