MPC - Marathon Petroleum says considering sale of Alaska refinery

Marathon Petroleum (NYSE:MPC) -1.8% pre-market despite beating Wall Street estimates for Q3 earnings and revenues. Q3 net income attributable to the company swung to a $694M profit, compared with a year-ago loss of $886M. Q3 adjusted EBITDA totaled $2.4B, compared with $1B in the same quarter last year. Q3 total throughput increased to 2.8M bbl/day from 2.5M bbl/day in the prior-year period. Refining and Marketing segment income from operations swung to a $509M profit compared with a year-ago loss of $1.6B. The company also said it is considering a sale of its 68K bbl/day Kenai refinery in Alaska. MPC
