Medicure (MCUJF) announces an agreement to acquire Marley Drug, Inc for an upfront payment of $6.3M.Licensed in all 50 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, Marley is a leading specialty pharmacy serving more than 30,000 customers in the U.S.The transaction, executed through the company's U.S. subsidiary, Medicure Pharma, is subject to certain holdbacks and additional payments based on the future performance of Marley.It ‘marks an exciting new chapter’ for Medicure, according to its CEO, Albert D. Friesen, who added that the combined business will be well-positioned to "accelerate the growth of Medicure's primary care drug, ZYPITAMAG® (pitavastatin) tablets, realize material synergies and generate substantial shareholder value."
