Medpace ( MEDP ), the Cincinnati-based clinical research organization, surprised the market at the start of last week with an absolutely stunning performance in the second quarter of 2025 that vividly revitalized the dusty and overly pessimistic perception of the healthcare sector that dominated so far this year. Since I wrote about the company here in early November of 2024, investors seemed to have more or less written off the company's future prospects that had just previously been undoubtably perfect. The challenging funding environment for small biotech businesses, the high level of cancellations, and a declining value of net new business awards were all present factors that made it hard to argue for returns given the demanding valuation last year....
