MEIP - MEI Pharma receives unsolicited acquisition proposal; up 10%

- MEI Pharma ( NASDAQ: MEIP ) has received an unsolicited offer from a group wanting to take the company private.
- Shares are up ~10% in after-hours trading.
- The pharma said it received a non-binding proposal Tuesday from a group represented by Anson Advisors and Cable Car Capital.
- The offer is "for not less than $8.00 in cash per share," as well as a contingent value right to receive 80% of the net proceeds payable from any license or selling of the Company’s clinical assets.
- MEI's board is reviewing the offer with advisors.
