AVO - Mission Produce: Not Ready For An Upgrade Yet

Over a year ago, in May of 2024, I wrote an article about Mission Produce ( AVO ), an enterprise that focuses primarily on the avocado business. Leading up to that point, the stock had fallen rather significantly at a time when the S&P 500 was up. Overall, financial results were showing signs of worsening. So I could understand why some investors might be cautious. At the same time, the contrarian streak in me made me fascinated by the business. Ultimately, however, I argued that shares were not yet cheap enough to justify a bullish outlook. As a result, I ended up rating it a ‘hold’ to reflect my view that the stock would be unlikely to perform materially different than the broader market for the foreseeable future....
