HOMZ - Mortgage rates hit record low at year-end
30-year fixed-rate mortgage averages 2.66% for the week ending Dec. 24, down from 2.67% in the prior week and 3.74% at this time a year ago, according to the Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey."The housing market is poised to finish the year strong as low mortgage rates continue to fuel homebuyer demand and refinance activity," says Sam Khater, Freddie Mac’s Chief Economist.
