COOP - Mortgages in forbearance decline in the past week: Black Knight
The number of forbearance plans declines by 71K, or 3.2%, since last Tuesday, according to Black Knight's McDash Flash Forbearance Tracker.As of June 1, some 2.12M, or 4% of, homeowners remain in forbearance plans including 2.4% of GSE, 7.1% of FHA/VA, and 4.7% of Portfolio/PLS loans, all of which fell in the past week.Plan starts fall to the lowest weekly total since the COVID-19 pandemic began with declines in both new forbearance starts and restarts.Source: Black Knight.There's still 65K plans with May expirations so there's room for more improvement for next week and 700K plans with end-of-June expirations will determine what exit activity will be in the coming weeks, especially in the first week of July.Estimated monthly principal and interest advances on active forbearance plans was were $2.6B, down slightly from $2.7B in the prior week.Estimated monthly tax and insurance advances were $0.9B, down from $1.0B a week earlier.Mortgage servicers
